Wordsmitten Wednesday: Opening Line

I’ve been toying with the idea of doing a regular Wednesday post for awhile now. Then, while reading Erin’s Top Most Awesome Quotes Part 2, it hit me! I love quotes – I collect them on Pinterest and Goodreads, and I photograph favorite passages in books as I read – why not share them? And so, dear friends, I give you Wordsmitten Wednesdays (thank you, thank you, THANK YOU to Maricel for the name!!!).

We’ll start things off with the opening line from my favorite book:

It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of a wife.
-Jane Austen, Pride and Prejudice

You know, you could call it Wordsmitten Wednesdays since you’re so smitten by words and it’s a play on wordsmith. ;p Just sayin’. (Wordsmitten also happens to be what I named my defunct elective; I teach knitting instead.)

I LOVE that your first Wordsmitten Wednesday quote is from Pride and Prejudice. I just ordered a beautiful print for my living room featuring a quote from Northanger Abbey. I will share it with you when it arrives!
