The adorable Erin @ Raised Reading did a fun meme a few weeks ago. I enjoyed it so much that I decided to tweak it and use it for a series of Top Five Tuesday posts. I’m going to attempt a top five bookish list for all 26 letters of the alphabet (this could get a little dicey towards the end!).
Let’s get started with “A”.
Picture Book – Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day by Judith Viorst, illustrated by Ray Cruz. I’ve read reviews that say Alexander is bratty and horrible but he just seems overly dramatic to me. There are several other books about Alexander that are worth a read (I’ll be reviewing one on Thursday 😉 ).
Middle Grade Book – Anne of Green Gables by L. M. Montgomery. I saw the mini-series on PBS and promptly read all eight books. This was my all-time favorite book for at least five years.
YA or Adult Book – Attachments by Rainbow Rowell. One of my favorite reads this year!
TBR – Abhorsen by Garth Nix. I read Sabriel earlier this year, and I still need to tackle Lirael, but I will get to this!
Author – Jane Austen. Because, of course!

Oh, brilliant! And well worth the anticipation from your roundup last week. What a fun meme! And yes, I shall be interested to see how you go with the “harder” letters. But I do like how you broke up the sets into subsets – my cataloging mind appreciates that. 😀

I think this task you’ve set yourself would be hard! You came up with some awesome As though. I definitely got exposed to Alexander back in my high school babysitting days – he’s great! And of course Anne. I have been wanting to read the Abhorsen trilogy for age and own a copy of Sabriel but now can’t find it…grumble grumble…

Anne of Green Gables is one of my favorites! This is a fun feature; I look forward to following it. But I think you’re going to have some trouble with, say, X. And maybe Q. 😉

The kids and I are listening to the AoGG audiobook that I got from SYNC this Summer. I don’t think I could read that one out loud – too many tears.
I’ve got Q covered, but X, Y, and Z are giving me fits. I’ll just have to get creative. 😉
