“Debbie had to get up and slice me a thick piece of cake before she could answer. And I do mean thick. Harry Potter volume seven thick. I could have knocked out a burglar with this piece of cake. Once I tasted it, though, it seemed just the right size.”
― Maureen Johnson, Let It Snow
Which is why you have to read more Maureen Johnson. Cheeky, isn’t she? ;p

Very cheeky. My husband’s family serves cake in HUGE slices, which they call Lucy slices after his great-grandmother. In my family, Nettie slices are a running joke, as my dad’s Aunt Nettie cut cake so thin you read through it. 😛

And apparently cake slicing is a science. LOL. We are pie people ourselves and cut our own slices because we’re college kids who never grew up and don’t sit together at the table for meals unless forced to. ;p
