Today’s Top Ten Tuesday topic is Books I Want to Read From X Genre. I chose Cozy Mysteries and decided to stick with 2015 releases.
- Dishing the Dirt by M. C. Beaton
- Malice at the Palace by Rhys Bowen
- Cinderella Six Feet Under by Maia Chance
- Come Hell or Highball by Maia Channe
- Superfluous Women by Carola Dunn
- Wicked Charms by Janet Evanovich
- Double Fudge Brownie Murder by Joanne Fluke
- Nun Too Soon by Alice Loweecey
- Caught Read-Handed by Terrie Farley Moran
- Death and the Redheaded Woman by Loretta Ross

I think the thing that intrigues me about these title is that they’re all puns. Is that endemic to the genre? If so, perhaps I need to revisit it for sure. I do need more books in my library queue if I’m to make my Goodreads goal this year…

Yep, punny titles are extremely common in the genre. Check out the titles of one of my favorite Cozy series:

The Caught Read-Handed book has a lovely cover! I may have to check out a few of these this winter, because I feel that the weather calls for titles like these. I also really want to get back into reading more mysteries like I used to….

There’s just something about cold weather and a Cozy, isn’t there?

I haven’t read any of the Lizzy and Diesel books, but they’re on my TBR list, especially since I liked Diesel when I met him in a Stephanie Plum book.
I still want to get to the Royal Spyness books since you told me about Georgie’s attitude toward the aristocracy.

I loved Diesel in the holiday Stephanie Plum books! I read the first Lizzy and Diesel book back when it first came out. I’m planning to re-read it and then read books 2 & 3 (the third one is the one on this list). I never would’ve thought I’d enjoy paranormal Cozies, but between these and the Aunt Dimity series, they’re becoming some of my favorites!
I hope you enjoy the Her Royal Spyness books as much as I do!

I love the Daisy Dalrymple books. I might be 2 or 3 behind in the series, but I’m almost caught up. Don’t you love the covers?

The covers are quite lovely. In fact, I’m using the cover of Gone West (#20 in the series) as my inspiration for an outfit this Friday. I’d love for you to come back and tell me what you think. 🙂

I’m super excited that Janet Evanovich’s next Wicked book is finally coming out! I really like that series; it’s reminiscent of the early Plum books. I’ve been meaning to check out the Rhys Bowen books for ages… glad you like them!

Now I just want to go to the library and load up on a bunch of cozies…sigh… I had been making my way through the Daisy Dalrymple series on audio but my library doesn’t have any more beyond a certain point. I need to just start back with the paper but they are fun to listen to that I’ve been moping…for like a year and a half, lol! Cozies in general are fun to listen to because they don’t take iron concentration:).

My husband just bought a waterproof Bluetooth speaker so he can listen to the morning news while he showers. I could listen to eAudio books! Cozies would be perfect. 🙂
