Blogging Besties is the brain child of Alex @ Undergraduate Style and Whitney @ Whitney à la Mode. It’s based on the idea of “take one, pass it on,” but we’re passing on an element from another blogger’s outfit.
This week we could choose from “a black t-shirt, a long necklace, a chambray shirt, (patterned) shorts, wedges, or all neutrals”. I passed on the patterned shorts, long necklace, and all neutrals from Whitney’s look.
Linking Up here.
So talk to me about these shorts. Whitney and I have this ongoing debate about whether we could/should style shorts for work. Since we all know my school is very forgiving in terms of fashion experimentation, I’m wondering if shorts like yours would pass. Because they seem more skirt-like, perhaps? Regardless, I’m digging this look and it’s given me even more to ponder on the subject.

These shorts are from Asos Curve (plus size) and are marketed as a skort. Really they’re just very soft, full shorts. I can’t speak to work appropriateness, but I’d guess you could get away with it. Clara Oswald wore shorts (with tights) to teach in:

At first glance, I thought this was a skirt! I think if you are going to experiment with shorts to work, these would be a good place to start!

I’ve seen similar shorts labeled skater shorts at Kohl’s:

Very cute, Selah! I like the soft drapy-ness of that skort.
