    This is so poignant and beautiful but, for me at least, rather inaccurate. But maybe that’s because my earlier memories of my children are tainted. :/

      I certainly don’t feel this way about my kids ALL the time, but I often feel sad that they’re not babies anymore (and then I remember all the things about babyhood that I don’t miss 😛 ). The specific teenager that this quote is referring to is an awful person, so it makes sense that his mom is feeling bereft.

      It’s intricately plotted and well written. I think the negative reviews were because it’s so different from HP – much darker and definitely meant for adults. Since you’ve enjoyed The Cuckoo’s Calling and The Silkworm, I think you’d like this one as well.
