Thoughtful Third Thursday: August 2015

Today’s T3 theme is Back to School (set in a school). One of my favorite school books is The Hundred Dresses by Eleanor Estes. Written in 1945, it proves that “mean girls” and school yard bullying are a universal problem.

One of the titular dresses is described here:

The only time she talked was in the school yard about her hundred dresses. Maddie remembered her telling about one of her dresses, a pale blue one with cerise-colored trimmings.

First, I had to find out what color “cerise” is. Thank you, Google. This is the Pantone swatch known as Cerise:

Ah, I can work with that! Cerise dress, pale blue chambray around the waist, and comfy Chucks – perfect for a long day at school (um, I’m guessing, because I haven’t spent a long day at school since 2000). 😉

Your turn!

Ah, this was a great book and I am so grateful you introduced me to it. And of course, I would never have thought of it since it’s a) too simple and b) more interpretive. Why do I always over-complicate my life? LOL! You look fabulous in this color and I adore the waffle texture!
