A Bibliophile’s Pile (40): Re-reading to the Rescue!

 Read

SunshineSunshine by Robin McKinley (audiobook / library / re-read)
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Gah, I love this book so much, it’s ridiculous! It gives me the same type of feels that I get from The Hunger Games series.

Jurassic Park (Jurassic Park, #1)Jurassic Park by Michael Crichton (physical / own / re-read)
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Always good. This time I’m reading because my 7th grader is reading for school, so we can discuss! I’m looking forward to seeing what parallels he draws between this and Frankenstein!

Endless NightEndless Night by Agatha Christie (physical / own / re-read)
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I can see why this was one of Agatha’s favorites of her own books. I can’t stand much, because spoilers. I definitely got some Rebecca vibes from the setting.

Much Ado About Anne (The Mother-Daughter Book Club, #2)Much Ado About Anne by Heather Vogel Frederick (audiobook / library)
My rating: 2.5 of 5 stars

I still find all the negative talk about weight and looks disturbing. My own daughter is only 9, and thankfully hasn’t started speaking negatively about her body (or other people’s) yet. I don’t remember when those thoughts started in my own head, but I hate them, and I don’t enjoy books that perpetuate them. I’m sure the author is just trying to make the characters relatable, but it makes me sad.
