Today’s Top Ten Tuesday topic is a Freebie — YOUR CHOICE OF TOPIC. Last month, we did book quotes and my friend Stefani, from Caught Read Handed, and I had a comments conversation about Doctor Who quotes. We decided to use that topic for our Freebie. 😀 I chose a mixture of inspiring and funny quotes, avoiding spoilers and catch phrases.
The 9th Doctor:
I can feel it – the turn of the earth. The ground beneath our feet is spinning at a thousand miles an hour. The entire planet is hurtling around the sun at sixty seven thousand miles an hour. And I can feel it. We’re falling through space, you and me, clinging to the skin of this tiny little world. And, if we let go… That’s who I am.
– Rose
I’m looking for a blonde in a Union Jack. A specific one, mind you, I didn’t just wake up this morning with a craving.
– The Empty Child
Rose Tyler:
The Doctor showed me a better way of living your life… That you don’t just give up. You don’t just let things happen. You make a stand. You say no. You have the guts to do what’s right when everyone else just runs away…
– The Parting of Ways
The 10th Doctor:
You want weapons? We’re in a library! Books! The best weapons in the world! This room’s the greatest arsenal we could have – arm yourselves!
– Tooth and Claw
Hermits United. We meet up every 10 years, swap stories about caves. It’s good fun. For a Hermit.
– Utopia
I just want you to know, there are worlds out there, safe in the sky because of her. That there are people living in the light, and singing songs of Donna Noble, a thousand, million light years away.
– Journey’s End
Donna Noble:
He saves planets, rescues civilizations, defeats terrible creatures. And runs a lot. Seriously, there’s an outrageous amount of running involved.
– The Doctor’s Daughter

The 11th Doctor:
Because every time you see them happy, you remember how sad they’re going to be. And it breaks your heart. Because what’s the point in them being happy now if they’re going to be sad later? The answer is, of course, because they are going to be sad later.
– The Doctor, the Widow and the Wardrobe
Hey, do you mind if I tell you a story? One you might not have heard. All the elements in your body were forged many, many millions of years ago in the heart of a far away star that exploded and died. That explosion scattered those elements across the desolations of deep space. After so, so many millions of years these elements came together to form new stars and new planets. And on and on it went. The elements came together and burst apart forming shoes and ships and sealing wax and cabbages and kings. Until, eventually, they came together to make you. You are unique in the universe.
– The Rings of Akhaten
Amy Pond:
You know when sometimes you meet someone so beautiful, and then you actually talk to them and five minutes later, they’re as dull as a brick. Then there’s other people and you meet them and you think, “Not bad, they’re okay.” And then you get to know them and… and they’re face just sort of… becomes them, like their personality is written all over it. And they just… they turn into something so beautiful.
– The Girl Who Waited
