Top Five Tuesday: Bookish “G”

The adorable Erin @ Raised Reading did a fun meme awhile back. I enjoyed it so much that I decided to tweak it and use it for a series of Top Five Tuesday posts. I’m going to attempt a top five bookish list for all 26 letters of the alphabet (this could get a little dicey towards the end!).

Other posts in this series:
“A”
“B”
“C”
“D”
“E”
“F”

Picture Book – Goodnight Moon by Margaret Wise Brown

Middle Grade Book – The Giver by Lois Lowry

YA or Adult Book – Gone With the Wind by Margaret Mitchell

TBR – The Good Thief by Hannah Tinti

Author – William Goldman

I’m kind of surprised you’re interested in The Good Thief – it’s described as Dickinsian. 😛

Bert gave me a beautiful 40th anniversary hardback of The Princess Bride for my birthday, so I REALLY need to re-read it! I’ve got it on my TBR for this summer.

Full disclosure: I have only watched the film, not read the book. Perhaps I ought to do that, eh? ;p

Oh, no! Dickensian?! I didn’t read that on the Goodreads description. I may just pass then…

IMHO, The Princess Bride is one of those rare instances where the book and film are equally good, even though the film leaves a lot out. I think this is due to the fact that Goldman is a screenwriter and wrote the screenplay of his own book. Highly recommended reading!

Goodreads doesn’t say Dickinsian, but I’ve read that in other places, which, of course, I can’t find now. 😛
