Blogging Besties is the brain child of Alex @ Undergraduate Style and Whitney @ Whitney à la Mode. It’s based on the idea of “take one, pass it on,” but we’re passing on an element from another blogger’s outfit.
This week we could choose from “a printed dress, a denim vest, sandals, or something borrowed”. I passed on this patterned dress from Whitney’s look. The dress is “borrowed” from Old Navy, as in, I ordered it from the website, but I’m not crazy about the fit, so I’ll be returning it. Le sigh.

At least you had the chance to wear it once before you returned it! I recently splurged on a shirt from Anthropologie only to have three buttons fall off the first time I wore it. I tried to look on the bright side in that I got to wear it, and then return it and get my money back. Better than not wearing it at all, right?!

Oh no, that sucks! I had a cardigan that the buttons kept falling off of. Thankfully, they were easy to sew back on, but it was annoying, especially given that it was a more expensive brand than my usual Old Navy or Target.
I only wore the dress for this picture. The cut if the dress is supremely unflattering when viewed straight on (notice that I angled myself for the photo). The shift cut, which should hang straight down, is undermined by the pockets on the hips, which make me look diamond shaped.

Even pockets couldn’t save this dress. I do like the print, though; very toile-esque. I have purchased the exact same one only in the spaghetti strap sundress and button up shirt. Am waiting to get them in the mail to see which one, if either, I intend to keep.
But forget about the dress. Those shoes! They look sooooo comfy and adorable! My feet are happy just looking at them. 😀

The pockets are what really ruin it – the placement is horrible. I considered the sundress version, but spaghetti straps are not my friends. The plus size version is belted, but would probably gap under the arms.
These Topsiders are old but still in good shape. I should wear them more often.
