Stefani @ Caught Read Handed tagged me with the Book Blogger’s Test. Fun!
What are your top three book pet hates?
1. Poor editing.
2. Condensed books for children. I have no problem with re-tellings that make great literature more accessible for children (Tales from Shakespeare, for example), but just condensing a book? No thanks!
3. Sex scenes.
Describe your perfect reading spot.
My library. 😀
Tell us three book confessions.
1. I have no problem DNF-ing books. There are too many great books out there, I’m not going to waste my time on a bad one.
2. I usually read 4-5 books at a time. Something long / heavy, something short / light, plus various books with my children.
3. It drives me crazy when people say classics are boring or difficult! Some classic books ARE, for sure, but most of them are wonderful! That’s why they’re classic!
When was the last time you cried during a book?
I tear up easily, but true crying? The Hunger Games.
How many books are on your bedside table?
None at the moment. I carry whatever I’m reading around the house with me, so Midnight in Austenland will be there tonight. 😉
What is your favorite snack to eat while you’re reading?
I read during meals. That’s probably why I’m such a careful, non-messy eater.
Name three books you would recommend to everyone.
1. Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
2. The Hobbit by J. R. R. Tolkien
3. Goodnight Moon by Margaret Wise Brown
Show us a picture of your favorite shelf on your bookcase.
Write how much books mean to you in three words.
What is your biggest reading secret?
I do not espouse the “all reading is good” idea. See my confessions above.
I’m tagging:
Melissa @ Avid Reader’s Musings
Rachel @ Confessions of a Book Geek
Stephanie @ Don’t Be Afraid of the Dork
Katie @ Spirit of Children’s Literature
and, because of my super secret plan to turn her into a book blogger 😈 :
Maricel @ My Closet Catalogue
You are an evil wench, but I was gonna do this anyway! Saw the convo you had with Stefani and was gonna steal the questions for a Thursday post. Mwahahahaha! Great minds!
Also, please explain DNF (not in my blogging lingo, being a style blogger and all ;D) and Amy and Rory. Love the quote but did you mean that’s what books are like for you? Or something else entirely?

Awesome! 😀
DNF = Did Not Finish
I love books like Amy and Rory love each other.

Oh, and I’m glad I keep my blog pretty clean, since my newest follower is Aly. 😀

She’d totally appreciate it if you followed her back. At least I’ll know you’re vetted. ;p
I think I may tag her for the Book Blog questionnaire thingie. Unless you want to?

Oh, I already followed back. 🙂
You should definetly tag her.

I actually showed it to her and she got confused and asked me if it was multiple choice. LOL! When I told her it was a free response, she huffed and said it was too much. Man, Common Core is gonna be a toughie for her. ;p
Also, just emailed you for some FIG help…

Love your bookshelf photo! Also your number one pet peeve — which is also one of mine. And your top 3 recommendations. (Note to self: must re-read P&P.)

Thanks Lark! There’s a gap on the shelf because I’m reading Mockingjay aloud to my husband. 😀
Bad editing is the worst. I was reading a Mary Higgins Clark book recently where she mixed up some minor characters’ names. Argh.
Choosing books for everyone is tough! I’m glad you like my choices. 🙂

I just visited your post about your library! I LOVE it! I live in an apartment right now so I don’t have room for a library…but someday I will! I know I’m not a book blogger but I really enjoyed this post so I might do one for myself 🙂 Maybe I’ll do it in conjunction with T3 so at least part of my post is fashiony.

Thanks! You know, I never even put “library” on my house hunting wishlist, because it just seemed impossible. I mean the list was already SO long! Thankfully, my husband knows me really well and likes to make me happy. 🙂
I’d love to hear your answers to the questions! Fashiony – LOL!

Oh. My. Gosh.
Amy and Rory.
That is the most apt description I might have ever heard. YES. YES. YES.

Yay! Since I tend to carry a book around with me, the word companion seemed fitting, and then I just got a “brainwave”. 😀

🙂 Yes, exactly. They’re companions. And then also, the love that those two have for each other is similar to the love I have for books.
LikeLike
YES, exactly! Books are like a lifelong friendship / love that I just can’t ever, ever live without!

Oh fun! Amy and Rory, you seriously made me tear up at that one. Ok, I’m going to have to take the test too!

Aww! I’m glad everyone appreciates Amy and Rory.
That’s why I tagged you – I figured you’d have some great answers. 🙂

I just read your post after doing my own Book Blogger’s Test! I was also tagged by Stefani. I just wanted to say it’s nice to know I’m not the only one who reads multiple books at one time 😀

Melissa, who commented just above you, also reads multiple books at a time. She blogs at http://avidreader25.blogspot.com
My son, who's 8, is a multiple book reader too. We're listening to an audiobook together, he listens to other audiobooks while he plays, and he's currently reading Redwall, The Wind in the Willows, and Hercule Poirot: the Complete Short Stories. 😀

Awww! He sounds like every book reading mommy’s dream! I love Redwall!

Great answers! I, too, was tagged by Stefani ^.^ She’s awesome!
